Prague, Dec 13 (CTK) – Detectives have started investigating the compromising video that allegedly features the former head of the Czech Presidential Office’s Protocol Department, Jindrich Forejt, daily Pravo writes on Tuesday.

The investigation was initiated by the National Drug Centre (NPC) and it is supervised by the Prague 5 District State Attorney’s Office, Stepanka Zenklova, spokeswoman for the Prague Municipal State Attorney’s Office, confirmed to Pravo.

However, she refused to elaborate on the particular suspicion the police looked into.

Forejt, 39, who headed the Presidential Office’s protocol for more than 12 years, resigned officially for personal and health reasons last Tuesday.

A day before Forejt’s resignation, some media wrote that he appeared in a compromising video. It has not been possible to verify the authenticity of the material yet.

Last week, Interior Minister Milan Chovanec (Social Democrats, CSSD) called for state attorneys to examine whether the video was to be used for blackmailing, Pravo writes.

“If the recording was made for the purpose of blackmailing Mr Forejt or possibly people from his surroundings, or for some criminal activities, it should undoubtedly be investigated,” Chovanec said.

The Hlidaci pes server published a few photos from the video, but it refused to release the whole recording.I

Some media have reported that the photos show Forejt sniffing a white powder and during various sexual activities. Two men with a criminal past were spreading the video, Pravo writes.

NPC head Jakub Frydrych previously confirmed that his office was looking into the video recording, it adds.

Forejt does not communicate with the media. He was replaced by Miroslav Sklenar, 46, who headed the protocol department before him, Pravo says.
