Prague, April 17 (CTK) – Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Makdad will discuss peace talks in Geneva during his visit to Prague this week when he will meet his Czech counterpart Martin Tlapa, Foreign Minister Lubomir Zaoralek and Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO), the Foreign Ministry has said on its webpage.

The talks will also focus on U.N. resolutions and migration.

The meeting with Tlapa is scheduled for Thursday.

“The goal of the visit is to contribute to the implementation of the relevant United Nations resolutions about Syria and of the outputs of the talks of the International Syria Support Group (ISSG) and to support the ongoing peace talks in Geneva,” the ministry said.

Intensified Czech humanitarian aid to Syrians with a view to reducing the migration pressure in Syria is another topic, it added.

“The talks will follow up Tlapa’s consultations in Damascus in November 2015,” the Ministry said.

At that time, Tlapa spoke with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem and Makdad.

Makdad will also be received by Industry and Trade Minister Jan Mladek (Social Democrats, CSSD) and Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sramek.

Makdad will also meet chairman of the Chamber of Deputies foreign affairs committee Karel Schwarzenberg (TOP 09) and business representatives.
