Prague, Oct 20 (CTK) – Czech detectives have detained a man, 30, who may have committed at least ten burglaries thanks to the earprints he was leaving at the doors when listening if anyone was inside the flats, police spokesman Jan Danek has said on the police web site.
If convicted, he may be sentenced up to ten years in prison.
The man who was breaking into the flats since February always used the same strategy, Danek said.
He randomly chose a flat in a house and placed his ear on the doors to listen whether it was really empty, he added.
He carried away the valuables from the flat that could be easily sold, mostly electronic devices and jewels, Danek said.
The thief caused the damage of almost half a million crowns. The repeat criminal was punished for similar crime 13 times before.
