The Czech population crossed passed 10.6 million people in 2017. Both immigration and childbirth contributed to the increase. The number of live births and deaths were both higher in 2017, as well as the number of marriages and divorces. The population has continued aging, the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) reported.
