Prague, Sept 21 (CTK) – A group of police from Vietnam that came to the Czech Republic last week will exchange the experience with the struggle against drug-related crime and illegal migration with their Czech counterparts, the police have said on their web page.
The Vietnamese specialists on the struggle with crime will stay a month in the Czech Republic, the web said.
The Czech Republic and Vietnam are looking for a suitable date for the signing of a cooperation agreement in the sphere of fight against crime, police spokeswoman Jana Macalikova has said.
The pact is to include an agreement on the extradition of sentenced persons, she said, adding that the drafts were already prepared.
“During their one-month stay, the Vietnamese police will visit a number of specialised police units to be acquainted with the operative and working methods they may newly include in their fight against crime,” Macalikova said.
The visit by the Vietnamese police was prepared by Interior Minister Milan Chovanec and his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang last July.
Last year, the National Anti-Drug Centre said in its annual report that the Czech drug dealing underworld had been dominated by criminal groups from Vietnam.
In recent years, they focused on the production of marihuana and pervitin (metamphetamine).
