The H1N1 flu virus has claimed its first victim in the Czech Republic as a woman died in hospital in the western city of Karlovy Vary on Thursday, a hospital spokeswoman told AFP. A woman “with a serious chronic disease and confirmed H1N1 flu died on Thursday after a short hospitalisation,” said Zdenka Marková. The patient, who had had an unspecified organ transplanted in the past, suffered from very low immunity, said a public health officer.
