Prague, Jan 24 (CTK) – Russian security expert Yury Fedorov will unveil his book about current Russia in a public debate in the information centre of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, to be staged by the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes (USTR) on February 1, the institute has said on its website.
The debate will also be organised by the Institute of International Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University and the Parliamentary Library.
There will be also Ukrainian military expert Mikhail Samus and Czech political scientist Jan Sir.
Fedorov’s book Russia between Fascism and Disintegration outlines two scenarios of development of Russia under the rule of President Vladimir Putin: the establishment of a fascist dictatorship or the disintegration of the state.
“Fedorov also thinks of which of the two scenarios poses a bigger danger to Europe and what can be done by Europe in this respect,” a USTR report said on the book.
“The seemingly provocative name is not to shock at all. Drily, without any emotions, the author explains why the current Russian regime must embark on the road of making the country fascist,” Samus said.
Fedorov is a Russian independent expert specialising on international security and Russian foreign policy.
He worked with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations and as a researcher of the London-based Royal Institute for International Affairs.
He has written a number of books published in Russia, Ukraine, the USA and Europe.
