Prague, July 28 (CTK) – The Czech Republic wants to allocate 2.8 million crowns to a special monitoring mission of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Ukraine, the Foreign Ministry has told CTK.

The government will be deciding on the contribution on Wednesday.

The money will be spent on the operation and equipment of the mission, including the observers’ pay.

The OSCE mission is to see to the ceasefire on which the Kiev government agreed with East Ukrainian separatists in Minsk.

However, none of the sides of the conflict has observed the ceasefire so far.

The government approved the same sum for the OSCE monitoring mission last December.

Some 500 European observers operate in eastern Ukraine in very difficult conditions. The monitoring groups have repeatedly come under fire. They had to give up their work due to the continuing fighting in many cases.
