In our recent survey, some of you have expressed unhappiness over the quality of the English in ČTK articles republished on our site. You are not alone. We’re not thrilled about it either.
We’re a small group, though, and spending hours rewriting articles from the Czech news agency every day would come at the expense of other editorial work. Instead, we believe we can make a better Monitor by using that time to broaden our coverage to provide the most complete overview of the latest Czech news as possible. For us, this means a carefully-selected, well-organised mix of links, original Monitor articles, translations from Czech sources and articles taken from ČTK.
Basically, it comes down to a single choice: Do we favour perfection or completeness? For a news junkie like myself, the choice is clear.
Any thoughts?
