Prague, Nov 4 (CTK) – The Czech police have detected and caught a person suspected of murdering three Prague taxi drivers in 2014, the Prague Municipal State Attorney´s Office spokeswoman Stepanka Zenklova told CTK on Wednesday, but declined to elaborate in view of the ongoing investigation.
She said criminal prosecution of the suspect has been launched.
The first taxi driver, 42, was murdered in February 2014. His body was found in a parked car in Prague centre.
The other two murders occurred in April. The killed drivers were found lying on a field path near Uhrineves, on the eastern outskirts of Prague.
“No more information will be released as this could threaten the purpose of the criminal proceedings,” Zenklova said.
The three murders have been uncleared so far. In all three cases, the perpetrator, or more of them, hired a taxi in the centre of Prague and asked for being taken to the outskirts.
The murderer shot the victims dead.
In July 2014, the police released the portrait of a witness, who, they said, could be the murderer.
An anonymous donor then offered a reward of 100,000 crowns for information leading to the killer´s arrest.
