Prague, Oct 18 (CTK) – Up to 300 people met in the Prague centre Sunday to point out the wave of attacks Jews have been faced with in Israel in the past months, and which, the organising groupings said, amount to ethnic terror.

The protest meeting has been staged by the Bnei Israel congregation, the Jewish Liberal Union, the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem (ICEJ), the League Against Anti-Semitism and the We Support Israel group.

The attacks amount to ethnic terror to which European countries have turned a blind eye, the organisers said.

The attacks target Jews irrespective of their age, sex and appearance, they said.

Representatives of the ICEJ branch in Prague said most of the assailants are Palestinians under 25, for whose upbringing and education the Palestinian autonomous rule is responsible.

In addition, instructions for how to make the attacks maximally devastating circulate within this community on social networks, the organisers said.

The Bnei Israel congregation rabbi, David Bohbot, said in his speech that the Israel government should recognise that there is a war in the country.

That is why the Jews should defend themselves against the attackers, like in a war, Bohbot said, adding that he expects the situation to further deteriorate.

The rally was also addressed by representatives of the other organising groups, and Jewish songs were signed.
