The Central Bohemian police are currently conducting an investigation into a sect that operated in the Kutná Hora region, following a series of deaths associated with their activities. It is reported that two individuals lost their lives during a forest ritual. One of them apparently took their own life, while the other was fatally attacked.
iRozhlas.cz, a news server, disclosed details about the case on Friday. All the individuals involved were members of the sect, whose founder and healer were murdered the previous autumn. Presently, two women—a dentist from Kutná Hora and a former teacher aged 60—are facing trial for their alleged involvement in the crimes.
Recently, radio coverage has revealed testimonies from August, when the sect was still operational. During that time, the members embarked on a purification ritual in the vicinity of Český Šternberk Castle, spending several days in the woods. Fellow sect members checked on them periodically.
František, one of the sect members, transported them to the location in a van. However, during the second check, communication with František became impossible. The police discovered his lifeless body near Kozojedy the following day.
According to Radio Radio’s report, the members claimed that František had allegedly taken his own life due to fear of participating in the forest ritual. Although the police are investigating his death, the case remains open.
Despite this incident, the forest ritual continued, attracting more participants. Some members sought the sect’s healer for diagnoses of various sexual disorders. The details of the activities in the forest remain unclear.
Radio Radio further reported instances of Jiri, a member of the sect, enduring two days of physical assault, leading to his deteriorating condition. The women took him to Kutná Hora, where they contacted paramedics. Unfortunately, Jiri passed away.
The police are also treating this incident as a criminal offense involving fatal battery.
Vlasta Suchánková, a police spokeswoman, commented, “The sudden death of a man in the Kutná Hora region is being investigated by the regional criminal authorities on suspicion of battery resulting in death. As this case is currently under investigation, we are unable to provide further details.”
Another participant of the ritual survived but required hospitalization.
