The upcoming week in the Czech Republic promises a stretch of warm weather, with temperatures consistently exceeding the “tropical” threshold of 30 °C. Even the nights are anticipated to be pleasantly warm. However, this warm spell will also bring about episodes of showers and thunderstorms.
According to Honsová, daytime temperatures will peak at 34 °C, but due to heightened humidity levels, the perceived temperatures will feel even higher. She pointed out that the nights will also remain balmy, staying above 20 °C, which is commonly associated with tropical nights.
These warm conditions might be disrupted by thunderstorms, potentially accompanied by sporadic heavy downpours, hail, and strong gusts of wind. The thunderstorms are expected to be prevalent in the northwest region at the beginning of the week, gradually spreading to other areas in the latter half of the week, Honsová added.
The weather forecast for the week is as follows:
- Monday: Partly cloudy skies are expected with occasional isolated showers or thunderstorms in Bohemia. Morning temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 °C, and afternoon temperatures reaching 28 to 32 °C.
- Tuesday: The sky will be partly cloudy to cloudy, with chances of showers or thunderstorms, especially in the western regions. Morning temperatures varying from 16 to 20 °C, and afternoon temperatures ranging between 28 to 34 °C.
- Wednesday: Meteorologists predict partly cloudy to cloudy conditions, accompanied by potential showers or thunderstorms in some areas. Morning temperatures ranging from 16 to 20 °C, and afternoon highs of 28 to 33 °C.
- Thursday: Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible showers or thunderstorms in certain places. Morning temperatures ranging from 14 to 20 °C, and afternoon temperatures reaching 27 to 32 °C.
- Friday: The weather is anticipated to be partly cloudy to cloudy, with potential showers or thunderstorms occurring in some locations. Morning temperatures ranging from 14 to 18 °C, and afternoon temperatures in the range of 27 to 32 °C.
- Saturday: The day is likely to be partly cloudy, with morning temperatures ranging from 13 to 17 °C, and afternoon temperatures ranging from 27 to 31 °C.
- Sunday: Expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. Morning temperatures will be around 14 to 18 °C, while afternoon temperatures are forecasted to reach 28 to 32 °C.
