In the Beroun region’s town of Žebrák, emergency responders are actively addressing a substantial blaze that has engulfed a plastics production facility situated within an industrial complex. The situation has prompted the declaration of the highest level of alert. Regrettably, three firefighters sustained minor injuries during the course of their efforts. The intense heat and flames led to a partial structural collapse of the burning facility.

In response to this incident, local law enforcement took the necessary steps to shut down both directions of the D5 motorway, spanning kilometers 34 to 41. This decision was made due to safety concerns resulting from the fire’s proximity to the roadway. This directive was communicated through statements provided by Monika Nováková, the spokesperson for the Central Bohemian Rescue Service, as well as updates shared by firefighters and police personnel on the X social network platform (formerly known as Twitter).

Mayor Daniel Havlík expressed, “An industrial zone is currently grappling with a fire that our dedicated firefighters were dispatched to around 11:00 AM. As of now, further information is pending, but it’s worth noting that plumes of smoke are billowing towards the town.” The affected production hall is situated on Skandinávská Street. As a safety precaution, the firefighting team posted advisory notices on Facebook urging residents to avoid ventilating their premises.
