A man died in a collision with a train on Friday evening on the line between Brandýs nad Orlicí and Ústí nad Orlicí. Traffic on the railway corridor is interrupted. Czech Railways said this on the social network X. The operation should be interrupted until 20:30.
“Two of our vehicles went to the place. We can confirm that these were injuries incompatible with life,” Alena Kisiala, spokeswoman for the Pardubice Region’s medical rescue service, told ČTK.
According to Czech Railways, the man moving on the track was hit by a passenger train travelling from Kolín to Česká Třebová. The circumstances of the accident are being investigated. Martin Drápal, a spokesman for the Railway Inspectorate, said the site of the collision was in an area not accessible to the public.
Long-distance trains will wait at suitable stations or be diverted via Havlíčkův Brod. For regional transport, ČD has introduced alternative bus transport in the section Choceň – Ústí nad Orlicí and back.
