Twitter has embarked on a major rebranding effort by launching its new logo, replacing the iconic blue bird with a striking X. The social media giant unveiled the fresh design on its website, showcasing a white X set against a black background.

The announcement was made by none other than Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, and its CEO, Linda Yaccarino. The CEO took to Twitter to share her excitement, proclaiming, “X is here! Let’s do this,” while also showcasing the logo projected on the company’s San Francisco offices.

This logo overhaul marks the latest change since Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform for a staggering $44 billion last year. In a series of posts on Sunday, Musk expressed his intention to implement the change globally, with the rollout expected as soon as Monday.

In a tweet, Musk hinted at even more transformation, stating, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.” According to Tom Morton, the global chief strategy officer at advertising agency R/GA, this rebranding is primarily a means for Musk to leave his distinctive mark on the company. Morton remarked, “Twitter’s changing name and logo has nothing to do with user, advertiser, or market issues. It’s a symbol that Twitter is Elon Musk’s personal property. He conquered the castle, now he’s flying his own flag.”

As Twitter continues to evolve under Musk’s ownership, users and industry insiders alike eagerly anticipate the impact of these changes and the future direction of the social media platform.
