Brno, June 30 (CTK) – Oldest Czech woman, Bedriska Koehlerova, who would celebrate her 109th birthday on Friday, died on June 19, Jana Hudeckova, from the retirement home where the woman had lived, told journalists on Thursday.
Respecting the desire of her family, she did not elaborate on her death.
Koehlerova was born in Meran, Italy, in 1907, at the time of Austro-Hungarian monarchy.
When celebrating her 108th birthday last year, she told CTK she had a lucky childhood until 1914 when World War One started.
Along with her relatives, she moved to Brno in 1919. In 1933, she married and she spent with her husband 35 years. The couple was childless.
