Plzen, West Bohemia, July 8 (CTK) – The Czech police have arrested a man who is suspected of shooting at a bus crowded with mostly foreign labourers in the west Bohemian regional centre of Plzen on Tuesday evening, Regional Police spokeswoman Ivana Jelinkova told CTK Wednesday.

“No danger threatens the public any more,” she said, adding that the decision on the launch of the man’s prosecution is expected on Thursday.

Nobody was injured in the incident, Interior Minister Milan Chovanec told CTK earlier Wednesday.

Neither the identity nor the motive of the shooter has been known yet, Chovanec said.

He said he asked the police to pay special attention to the case.

About 90 people travelled on the bus, mostly foreign labourers returning from their work in factories in Plzen-Bory, according to the first information.

The bus driver first thought that the rear light of the vehicle broke, but when he checked it during a break, he found three bullet holes on the bus and he called the police.

Chovanec wrote on Twitter that the police are checking whether the case was not yet another political provocation.

In relation to the debate about refugee quotas, protests against immigrants have recently started to be held all over the country. Last week, participants in a Prague demonstration called for the execution of the political “traitors” who wanted to accept Muslims and other refugees in the country.
