Prague, June 15 (CTK) – The current wording of all valid Czech laws will be available online for free as of 2020 thanks to the bill on the introduction of the electronic form of the Collection of Laws that the Senate smoothly passed at its session on Wednesday.

The bill is yet to be signed into law by the president.

The bill wants to make the legislation more available and more comprehensible.

The Interior Ministry will administer the electronic system and be responsible for the published version being complete and correct. It will be obliged to release all information on changes ensuing from the rulings of the Constitutional Court.

In his presentation of the bill, Interior Minister Milan Chovanec told the senators on Wednesday that all accepted amendments to laws would be clearly marked in the online Collection of Laws.

The bill introduces two information systems. One of them will focus on the Collection of Laws and international agreements and the other on the legislative process. The systems are to be created as of next year.

The whole system is to cost 527 million crowns and most of the sum may be covered from European subsidies.

The technical part of the project is to be finished by the end of 2018. The operational costs are to be roughly 389 million crowns in ten years.
