Prague, April 18 (CTK) – The Czech Interior Ministry will release 15.7 million crowns in support of people resettled in Ukraine, the development of the Horn of Africa and the admission and transit centres along the West Balkans migration route within its long-term programme, the government decided on Monday.
The cabinet approved the priorities and particular financial aid within the Interior Ministry’s concept of assistance to refugees and countries facing a strong migration pressure, the ministry said in its press release.
According to the concept, the Middle East region and Turkey, along with the West Balkans, North Africa, the Horn of Africa and Ukraine remain the priorities in 2016.
The government approved a subsidy of 2.5 million crowns to the Balkans, 3.2 million to Ukraine and the remaining ten million to the countries of the African Horn.
The cabinet approved the whole concept last November. A total of 150 million crowns should be allocated to the migration-afflicted regions this year.
In March, the cabinet agreed with an extraordinary programme in support of European countries facing the migrant wave in which 100 million crowns is to be divided among them. Thirty million have been earmarked for the protection of the borders of Macedonia, Turkey and Greece.
