Brussels, May 18 (CTK correspondent) – Czech commissioner Vera Jourova and Jan Skrha, pro-rector of Charles University in Prague for foreign relations, opened an exhibition on the 700th birth anniversary of King of Bohemia and Roman Emperor Charles IV (1316-1378) on Wednesday.
The life and importance of Charles IV, whose father was John of Luxembourg, is depicted on 14 English-language panels that are on display in the building of the European Commission.
Jourova said Charles IV “seems to be the embodiment of a just and most pious ruler and man…Such a really European ruler and lawmaker is precisely the model we need at present,” Jourova said.
The exhibition will last until June 9 and only the commission’s employees can see it. Afterwards, it will tour Europe.
