Prague, March 23 (CTK) – The Czech Republic has a fourth case of Zika infection, which is connected with the birth of children with small heads and little developed brain, Martin Salek, spokesman for the Na Bulovce Hospital, told CTK on Wednesday.
He added that the 43-year-old infected woman returned from Martinique recently.
“Like the previous three cases, this one does not have a serious course,” Salek said, adding that the woman is treated on the outpatient basis.
The first two cases were reported by the Health Minister on February 25. They were a man who also returned from Martinique and a woman who visited the Dominican Republic.
In early March, the Czech Republic reported a third case. The woman also spent her holiday in the Dominican Republic.
None of the women afflicted was pregnant.
