Karlovy Vary, West Bohemia, July 11 (CTK) – The auction of the pyjamas in which U.S. actor Mel Gibson filmed the new festival trailer for this year’s, 50th Czech Karlovy Vary Film Festival yielded 60,500 crowns.
The proceeds will go to the account of the Alliance of Women With Breast Cancer, a non-profit partner of the festival this year.
The auction took place online at Aukro.cz.
The bidders could offer their money until Friday night. The last one offered over 60,000 crowns.
Last year, Oscar-winning actor Gibson was awarded with the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema.
The festival donated the pyjamas with a chamois on its lapels to the purpose.
When the festival was held, the pyjamas was installed in the breast dome in which the Alliance of Women With Breast Cancer unveiled its activities.
The group also highlighted the need of prevention and early detection of the disease by the Joy and Life March with the participation of the women who have suffered from it.
The Alliance of Women With Breast Cancer is an umbrella group of 45 patient organisations that organise help and campaigns for the sake of prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
