Plzen, West Bohemia, Aug 4 (CTK) – French photographer Guillaume Chauvin will take pictures of 30 Plzen inhabitants of various professions within the Plzen – European Capital of Culture project, Tereza Svaskova, told reporters yesterday.
Chauvin is now looking for volunteers, she added.
Chauvin’s photographs will be created within one of the artists’ residential programmes held as part of the European Capital of Culture 2015, Svaskova, who is in charge of the artists’ stays in Plzen, said.
Guillaume Chauvin is trying to map everyday life of people who have different professions both at work and privately, she said.
He would like to spend a day with each of them in October and November – from morning when they get up until they go to bed, she added.
If it is not possible to photograph at a workplace, he will ask the person to take some pictures there alone, Jan Chabr, one of the organisers, said.
The project’s results will be a photographic exhibition and a book in which Chauvin will add his commentaries to the pictures.
He would like to spend a day with, for instance, a priest, a dustman, the town mayor or another local politician, a cook, a musician, a vet, a banker, a researcher, a road-mender, a soldier, a journalist and a plumber.
Volunteers can send their photos and short CVs to [email protected] by the end of August.
