Beijing, Nov 26 (CTK special correspondent) – Chinese children could arrive in the Czech Republic to train football next year, Miroslav Pelta, head of the Czech Football Association (FACR), who will sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Chinese Football Association on Friday, said yesterday.
“The Chinese President supports football very much,” Pelta said. He said the Czechs could help educate talented youth, coaches and also female players.
Chinese President Xi Jinping is to arrive in the Czech Republic next spring.
“We would like Chinese children to train in the country by then,” Pelta said, adding that an expert team will be formed for this purpose, in which youth section chief Michal Prokes, national team coach Pavel Vrba and others could participate.
“There is a clear government decision on that Chinese football should reach the world level…We are not a large country, but we have football experience,” Pelta said.
Chinese firms are also interested in Czech football. One of them has already become a partner of the national team, Pelta said.
Czech coaches who speak English could go to China.
Within a year, the first results of the academy of Czech footballer Pavel Nedved, European Footballer of the Year in 2003, that opened in Shanghai in September could be known.
“The name of Pavel Nedved is very strong here. People know what he means in world football,” Pelta said.
