Prague, Jan 20 (CTK) – British Prime Minister David Cameron will arrive in the Czech Republic on Friday at the invitation of Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, with whom he will discuss Britain’s EU reform demands.
The meeting between the two prime ministers will also be attended by Czech Labour and Social Affairs Minister Michaela Marksova and State Secretary for European Affairs Tomas Prouza.
They will also talk about bilateral economic relations and cooperation in the field of security.
During his one-day visit, Cameron will also meet President Milos Zeman.
The talks between the Czech and British delegations were also to be attended by Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) who wanted to discuss with Cameron the introduction of reverse charge that the Czech Republic is pushing through on EU level, government spokesman Martin Ayrer said.
However, at the time of the Czech-British meeting, Babis will be in the Chamber of Deputies that will be dealing with a bill on electronic sales registration in the third reading. Babis would like to push it through the lower house of parliament despite the opposition´s obstructions.
Cameron will arrive in Prague after five years, at a time when intensive negotiations about the British government´s EU reform demands are held on the European soil.
Cameron promised before the 2010 general election in Britain to declare a referendum on the country´s staying in the EU by end-2017.
Before the referendum, he wants to reach agreement on changes to the relations between Britain and the EU.
Cameron´s visit to Prague is one in a series of his bilateral meetings with his European counterparts focused on the reform proposals.
