Prague, May 12 (CTK) – The exhibition The Second Life of Charles IV, reflecting the perception of this ruler, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor, in various periods of Czech history, opened in Karolinum, the seat of Charles University, yesterday.
Charles University and the National Gallery cooperated on the opening.
It will complement a large exhibition on Charles IV 1316-1378), staged by the National Gallery, that will start in the Waldstein Riding School at Prague Castle, the seat of Czech heads of state, on Saturday, Charles University Rector Tomas Zima said at the opening of the exhibition.
The former exhibition will officially also open for the public on Saturday.
The public will be able to see artifacts associated with Charles IV and his legacy for further generations.
There will be a priceless attire Charles IV wore and the university has borrowed from a museum in Venice, Zima said.
The exhibition will be open till the end of August.
