Prague, Sept 1 (CTK) – Prague has agreed on cooperation with Beijing and Shanghai in new technologies and transport and the cities’ zoological gardens, Mayor of Prague Adriana Krnacova and her deputy Petr Dolinek told CTK yesterday after their return from a visit to China.
They said Prague will sign a partnership agreement with Shanghai in the future.
It signed a similar agreement with Beijing early this year.
The agreement was objected by the opposition because Prague recognises one China, including Taiwan.
“We agreed to sign a partnership treaty with Shanghai, which is the biggest business centre of China. I highly respect this because we can now cooperate in computerisation of the public administration or in IT…I hope that relations between the two Chinese cities and Prague will be further promoted,” Krnacova said.
Dolinek said Prague and Shanghai agreed to develop an application that informs passengers of special situations in transport.
“We also discussed electric buses and safety appliances for driverless underground,” he said.
Krnacova also held talks on projects in culture, cooperation of zoological gardens and tourism.
The Prague zoo has for some time been striving for the loan of the protected giant pandas from China. It will now gain a rare golden snub-nosed monkey from Beijing.
