A man in the Karviná region put an end to an argument by resorting to the use of a knife.
Detectives from Moravian-Silesian have pressed charges of attempted murder against a 22-year-old man who attacked his 39-year-old roommate during a dispute in Bohumín on Tuesday. Shortly after the crime took place, the police apprehended the suspect, and he now faces a potential prison sentence of up to 20 years.
The assault occurred in the afternoon within the apartment shared by the attacker and the victim.
“After engaging in a verbal argument, the 22-year-old man proceeded to attack the other individual with a knife-like object. Paramedics provided immediate medical assistance to the injured man at the scene before transferring him to the hospital,” stated police spokeswoman Soňa Štětínská on Friday.
The police promptly arrested the perpetrator following the crime. “The criminal investigators have charged the man with attempted murder, an extremely serious offense, and have submitted a request to the prosecutor for his detention,” she added.
The young man could face a prison term ranging from 12 to 20 years for his attempt to commit murder.
