The financial subsidy for the devices for the production of electricity from biomass, wind, water, solar radiation and biogas will continue to be a burden a for the Czech Republic’s economy for a long time, the Supreme Audit Office has stated in its study. The authority estimates that the total costs of supported renewable energy resources (RER) will exceed CZK 1 trillion until 2030. A major portion of the sum will be paid by the clients themselves through surcharges to the consumed electricity. RER-related costs totalled almost CZK 157bn in 2011-2014.
