Prague, Oct 24 (CTK) – The Czech Education, Labour and Industry ministries, the Government Office and the Czech ICT Alliance group of companies have signed an agreement launching the Czech national coalition for digital job positions, they announced in a joint press release yesterday.
In the three months to come, the coalition will define its priorities and call on further potential participants to join the open project.
The establishment of the coalition is one of the measures taken within the Digital Education Strategy until 2020.
National coalitions for digital job positions have also been mushrooming in other European countries.
“The Czech Republic has lacked a platform focusing on digital education. I welcome it that the government has decided to pay attention to enhancing the digital skills of Czechs, without which people can hardly do in their everyday life,” the government coordinator of the digital agenda, Tomas Prouza, said.
He said the launch of the coalition is the first step and the participants have much to do to secure the Czech Republic’s progress in this area.
The government previously announced its plan to spend some seven billion crowns, including EU subsidies, on enhancing people’s digital literacy by 2020.
