Retail chain Lidl plans to invest CZK 9bn into developing its retail network and expanding its warehouse space in the next three years. The investments will create roughly 1,500 new jobs. On December 7 Lidl will open its first store with a new concept in Beroun. Its construction costs totaled almost CZK 90m and the store will create roughly 25 new jobs. The general manager of Lidl Česká Republika, Pavel Stratil, said that the most significant changes include wider aisles, a large bakery, expanded fresh food sections by up to 20 % and more tills with new storage compartmen
