Utility ČEZ plans to raise fuel reserves in both nuclear power plants. At the same time, the company wants to have two suppliers for the Temelín nuclear power plant. The group reached an agreement on fuel testing with US firm Westinghouse in February. If the US producer acquires licences, six fuel sets will be transported to the plant in 2017. Temelín nuclear power plant has fuel for two years of operation of block no. 1 now. The reserve for the second block will be expanded until 2015. The power plant orders 80 fuel sets per year and newly will hold 80 additional sets as a permanent reserve. ČEZ wants to have a reserve in Dukovany for three years as well.
