Energetický Průmyslový Holding (EPH) has acquired from German RWE Supply & Trading the British company Lynemouth Power Limited, which operates the coal power plant of the same name with an output of 420 MW. After reconstruction for biomass the power plant will produce roughly 2.3 TWh of low-carbon electricity per year. This represents the consumption of roughly 700,000 British households. The value of the transaction was not made public. EPH board of directors chairman Daniel Křetínský said that EPH thus confirms its long-term interest in the British market and that it is also strengthening its position in the production of electricity from renewable sources.
