COOP group currently operates 2,800 stores, up ca. 20 y/y. The stores are gradually being modernised. BILLA has 205 shops in CR and plans to open seven more later in 2016. The chain also upgrades ca. 15 stores per year. Kaufland Česká Republika operates 124 stores in the Czech Republic the chain plans to open and upgrade additional stores later this year, e.g. in Prague-Vypich and Plzeň-Roudná. Lidl Česká Republika will open another store in Havířov later this year. The total no. of shops will thus grow to 232. Before the end of 2016 Lidl will open 10 new generation stores and more than 50 shops will be remodelled. AHOLD Czech Republic modernises tens of Albert stores every year.
