The automotive segment belongs among the propellers of Czech economy, and for that reason, too, it is among the priority areas for the National policy of research, development and innovations for the years 2016-2020. Deputy prime minister Pavel Bělobrádek said this on October 13, 2016 during his visit to ŠKODA AUTO plant in Kvasiny. According to his words, a sum of approximately CZK 70bn is prepared for support of the areas of research and enterprising with the highest prospects, as part of an update of the strategy of intelligent specialisation of the Czech Republic. The programme also included a discussion with the management of the plant about support of research and development in the automotive segment and an inspection of the new model ŠKODA Kodiaq.
