The Czech Republic received CZK 150.5bn from the EU budget in the first half of 2015. This information was provided by the Ministry of Finance, which added that the Czech Republic contributed CZK 23.7bn to the EU. The resulting net gain of the Czech Republic from the EU budget stands at CZK 126.8bn. According to the ministry, the positive balance of the Czech Republic towards the European budget was caused by a significant increase in drawing funding from structural funds and the Cohesion Fund in the 2007–2013 programming period.
