Retail chains are reacting on a growing demand for organic food. AHOLD Czech Republic offers this kind of goods under the brand Albert BIO in its shops branded Albert. The most popular organic products are dairy products, selected kinds of fruit and vegetables and eggs. Lidl Èeská republika will announce a special thematic week as a reaction on the demand for organic food in 2016. It offers for instance organic yoghurts, rice bread, or organic fruit and vegetables, or olive oil. Both companies also offer certified products. AHOLD is part of the programme UTZ for the sustainable production of coffee, cacao, and tea. Lidl offers product with the certification UTZ CERTIFIED (chocolates), MSC and Dolphin Safe (fish products) and FSC.
