An annual growth in nominal wages paid in the business segment will reach 4.8-5.0% in 2017. This stems from a forecast published by the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic (HKČR). According to HKČR President Vladimír Dlouhý, a natural growth in wages paid in the private segment was, contrary to an artificial growth in wages paid in the state administration, closely related with the economic growth and the optimism of entrepreneurs. According to Mr. Dlouhý, the growth in the minimum wage as of January 1, 2017 will negatively impact the competitiveness and the entire economy and the GDP growth.
