On December 21, 2015, ČEZ submitted a non-binding bid for the acquisition of the German assets of Swedish Vattenfall group. The sale covers the Boxberg, Jänschwalde and Schwarze Pumpe brown coal plants, the R block in Lippendorf power plant, ten hydro power plants and five coalmines. As ČIANEWS has previously informed, Vršanská Uhelná of Czech Coal group and PPF together with EPH have also expressed interest in Vattenfall’s assets.
