European Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of Vattenfall Europe Generation and Vattenfall Europe Mining by Energetický a Průmyslový Holding (EPH) and PPF Investments (PPF). EC has reviewed the effect of the proposed acquisition on economic competition on brown coal mining and delivery, power brown coal delivery in Germany and electricity production and wholesale deliveries. The Commission has reached the conclusion that the transaction will not have a negative effect on competition on the relevant markets.
