Czechs spent almost CZK 140bn in gambling in 2014 and lost over CZK 31bn. Some CZK 7.9bn came to public budgets from gambling, down CZK 135m on the year. A total of 80% of this income is generated by electronic gaming devices. The state received CZK 2.4bn and CZK 5.5bn went to municipalities. At a briefing on the annual report on gambling for 2014 held on July 23, 2015, this information was provided by National Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Addictions head Viktor Mravèík who added that online betting had recorded an increase by tens of per cents in recent years.
