The Czech Republic is in the 16th place in Europe in terms of the innovation potential, which is the same place as in 2014. This information was provided by Česká Spořitelna (ČS) via the Innovation Barometer of Erste Corporate Banking. Jan Jedlička of the EU Office ČS said if the Czech Republic did not want to remain a production economy in eastern part of Europe, it should improve its innovation potential. It must focus on innovations, research and development, on products with a high added value, knowledge-based economy and information society. The top places went to Denmark and Finland. Slovakia is in the 20th place and Romania and Bulgaria share the last place.
