The Ostrava public transit company (DPO) will invest CZK 1bn into purchasing vehicles, improving the quality of transport infrastructure and improving public transit operations in 2015. And it will do so using European funds, the Swiss-Czech Cooperation program, money from the state budget, the budget of the Statutory Municipality of Ostrava and its own funds. This was stated as part of a ČIANEWS survey by spokesman Miroslav Albrecht, who added that this year DPO will acquire with a subsidy 105 CNG-powered buses and 10 trolleybuses. He said the average age of buses is now 9.97 years, that of trolleybuses 13.64 years and that of trams 19.5 years.
