Prague, March 30 (CTK) – The CEFC China Energy Company, which owns the Czech top football league club Slavia Praha, will gain a majority stake in the club’s stadium, Eden Arena, and reconstruct it so that it may become the national stadium, according to a contract signed in Prague yesterday.
The Chinese company plans to invest 49.6 million euros in the next five years.
The contract between the CEFC China Energy Company and the Eden Arena joint stock company says CEFC will get 70 percent of the shares of the stadium and pay 31.1 million euros this year, which indicates that this may be the price paid for the majority stake.
The contract also mentions the Beijing Municipal & Bridge Corporation construction firm, which seems to be the company that would do the reconstruction works.
Czech Football Association head Miroslav Pelta recently said the Eden Arena might turn into a national stadium for up to 30,000 spectators.
