Prague, Jan 14 (CTK) – British film writer and playwright Peter Morgan has accepted an invitation to the 23rd Febiofest international film festival that will be held in Prague on March 17-25, Febiofest spokeswoman Martina Chvojka Rekova told CTK yesterday.
Rekova said Morgan has a strong link to the Czech Republic as his wife is Anna Carolina, the daughter of former Czech foreign minister Karel Schwarzenberg.
Morgan will be awarded for his contribution to world cinematography at Febiofest.
Morgan is best known for writing historical drama films Frost/Nixon (2008), The Queen (2006) and The Deal (2003) that concentrate on top political figures in Britain and the United States. He has been nominated for the Academy Award twice and won the British Academy Film Award (BAFTA) four times.
In the previous years, Febiofest hosted film directors Roman Polanski and Carlos Saura, and actresses Claudia Cardinale and Kim Novak, for example.
Within the Echos of Febiofest, a part of the film programme will be presented in 14 Czech towns from March 29 to April 21.
The section Culinary Cinema, staged in cooperation with Berlinale for the first time last year, will be part of the festival programme in Prague again. A ticket for the films from this section will include a three-course supper.
