Over a thousand oysters fresh from the seacoast of Bretagne were delivered to Old Town Square shortly after midday last Saturday for the 10th annual Oyster Opening Competition and chefs from some of the best Czech restaurants sharpened their blades and taped over their fingers preparing to do battle in a contest that would get one of them an all-expenses-paid trip to Ireland’s Galway to take part in the World Oyster Opening Championship in September.
