Prague, March 31 (CTK) – Czech deputy Prime Minister for Research Pavel Belobradek would like to send a science diplomat to the United States by the end of the year, he told journalists yesterday.
The first science diplomat Delana Mikolasova has been active in Israel since last autumn.
Belobradek said “it will definitely take a few months” before the diplomat is be able to leave.” It will include negotiations at the Foreign Ministry and also the financial side will have to be negotiated about.
The costs involved will be financed by the Government Office.
Mikolasova in Israel falls under the Government Office and the Foreign Ministry. She has her seat at the embassy in Tel Aviv.
The possible science diplomat in the United Sates would be based in Washington.
The major tasks of a science diplomat include the establishment of contacts with scientists, research institutions and innovative firms in the given country and promotion of their cooperation with Czech scientists and research and industrial firms.
