Prague, Sept 3 (CTK) – The Czech Bloc Against Islam filed yesterday a criminal complaint against Interior Minister Milan Chovanec (Social Democrats, CSSD), suspecting him of “spreading an infectious disease out of negligence” in connection with the influx of migrants.
The far-right group said Chovanec does not protect people in the country against diseases that “illegal migrants may spread in the Czech Republic.”
Magda Faltova, director of the Association for Integration and Migration, said the Bloc only wants to make itself visible and that its activity is not worth a commentary.
The fears of a possible spread of infectious diseases were refuted by doctors previously.
David Stepan, spokesman for the Bloc, said Chovanec “ignores the risks of the spread of lethal diseases” and that he has not seen to the “consistent isolation” of the migrants.
Rastislav Madar, president of the Forum of Infectious Diseases, Travel and Tropical Medicine, said previously no problems have occurred in Britain, France, Germany and Sweden, the destinations of many migrants.
Faltova said the detained foreigners are examined by doctors and that they are usually quarantined in the detention facilities.
