Brno, Jan 6 (CTK) – A convoy with Czech humanitarian aid designed for migrants in Greece for which the government set aside 4.25 million crowns left Brno this morning carried by a team of nine firefighters in three lorries, the firefighters´ corps spokeswoman Nicole Zaoralova has told CTK.
She said the aid will arrive at Mandra near Athens on Thursday evening. It consists of 2000 blankets, 500 camp beds, 2000 sleeping bags, 10,000 plastic raincoats and 40 solid-fuel stoves.
The firefighters will unload the shipment in the humanitarian aid reception central store in Mandra on Friday morning and afterwards, they will set out on their way back home. They will spend the night of Saturday in Bulgaria.
Greece is the fifth country to which the Czech Republic is sending humanitarian aid in connection with the migrant wave.
Recently, firefighters took equipment for emergency accommodation to Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia and Slovenia.
